3D physics puzzle games: momentum, magnets and balance

If a ball keeps rolling after you move your finger, that is the puzzle, not a delayed button. These free browser games ask you to influence motion instead of directly placing an object at its destination. The common skill is planning how to stop.

Choose your kind of physics challenge

Marble Magnet Maze: the magnet is not a grab tool

Marble Magnet Maze game
Marble Magnet MazeContinuously move a finite-range horseshoe magnet to pull, coast and brake a shiny steel marble through timed toy gates without touching striped rails.▶ Play

Move the magnet close enough for its field to affect the marble. The outer field circle marks its maximum reach; moving a distant magnet more aggressively will not pull the marble from across the board.

Once moving, the marble has momentum. To slow it, put the magnet behind its direction of travel rather than continuing to pull toward the next gate. Brake before a zigzag, especially on blue low-friction tiles. Repositioning the magnet does not instantly cancel the marble's existing speed.

At a timed shutter, wait below the opening and use a short pull when GO appears. A gate must be open when the marble physically crosses it. Reaching HOME also means settling slowly enough, not simply passing through at speed.

Pinwheel Park: remember the fans you left running

Pinwheel Park game
Pinwheel ParkTurn persistent pinwheel fans to roll a striped toy ball through an ordered, sunny wind garden.▶ Play

Choose a numbered fan, set its direction, then switch its wind on or off. Selecting another fan does not stop the first. When a ball seems to refuse a turn, check the old ground arrows before increasing the new fan's push.

Clear the hoops in order. Ahead of a closing gate, switch off unwanted wind early and let drag slow the ball. Later fans can point backward to recover an overshoot. Watch the outlined ball rather than the decorative wind particles: only the ball's path tells you whether a setup is working.

Balance Barge: solve placement before adding more ballast

In Balance Barge, pair equal container weights across opposite squares before launching. Printed tonnage matters more than color alone. A neat-looking deck can still lean if its actual loads are uneven.

Then adjust port/starboard and fore/aft tanks in small steps to oppose the lean and forecast wind. More water is not automatically better; watch both needles. Later stacking changes the center of mass, and occupied tank hatches reduce the available layout. If a placement needs changing, lift a top container first.

Orbit Golf: more power can mean less control

In Orbit Golf, aim beside an attraction well rather than through a planet's solid core. Lower-power shots bend more, while a harder shot may escape the well. Where fields overlap, think about which one the ball enters first.

The dotted preview only describes the beginning of the shot, not a guaranteed route to the cup. A hard shot through the flag does not count as a capture; it needs to arrive slowly. Use a retry to compare a slightly different angle or power against the same generated geometry.

A simple way to learn without random guessing

  1. Identify the object you control directly and the object it influences.
  2. Choose a stopping area before you start the next movement.
  3. Change one setting per retry: magnet position, fan direction, container placement or shot power.
  4. Watch the result before changing anything else. Several simultaneous corrections hide the cause.

These are playful simulations, not engineering or navigation tools. They run in a WebGL-capable browser without an app download; device performance varies. Prefer a different sort of puzzle? Browse puzzle games or the full catalogue.
