Office online team games: free browser games for the whole team
Hybrid offices have one problem for games: some people are in the room and some are not. Browser games solve it. Everyone opens the same room code on their phone or laptop, whether they sit at the next desk or work from home. Here is how to run office online team games that actually get people to join in.
Why browser games suit the office
- No install. IT does not need to approve anything.
- Works everywhere. Phones, laptops and shared screens.
- Short. A round takes one to two minutes, so it fits a lunch break or the gap before a meeting.
- Fair. Everyone plays the same board at the same time, and teams are scored by their average.
Ideas for common office moments
Lunch break
Try Word Chain, Quick Count or Tile Match. They are calm and easy to join late.
Friday social
Go for Paint War, Sketch Squad or Bomb Pass. They are loud, quick and good for laughing.
Start of a meeting
One round of Reaction Rush, Math Rush or Tap Hunt wakes people up. Keep it under three minutes.
Hybrid team day
Use Team Jigsaw or Baton Dash and mix people in the office with people at home on the same team.
Running it well
- Make the room before the session starts and post the code in your chat channel.
- Pick two or three teams so people at different desks mix.
- Show the podium on the shared screen.
- Ask for one game suggestion from the team for next time.
