Online group games
Whether you are four people on a call or a whole department, a group game works best when it fits the group. This page sorts free games by group size. Everyone joins a room with a 6-letter code and a nickname. No registration, no download.
How a room works for any group
- One person opens Host a room, picks a game and a length from one to thirty minutes.
- They share the 6-letter code or link in the chat.
- Everyone joins on their own phone or laptop with a nickname.
- The host presses Start. The host can also pick 2 to 4 teams in the lobby. A team's score is the average of its members, so uneven teams stay fair.
Small groups: 2 to 4 people
With a few people, everyone is involved all the time. Co-operative and turn-based games shine here.
- Echo Squad: the whole squad shares one growing pattern and three lives.
- Sketch Squad: one player draws a secret word, the others race to guess it.
- Team Jigsaw: build one picture together, one to eight players.
- RPS Royale: rock, paper, scissors for the room, with power cards.
- Four Hands: each teammate owns only some of the four arrows, so you steer one blob together.
- Mind Meld: pick the cards your team will pick too.
Medium groups: 5 to 10 people
Split into two teams and add a little rivalry.
- Paint War: paint a shared board in your team colour.
- Baton Dash: a relay for 2 to 8 players.
- Tug of Words: two teams pull the rope by unscrambling words.
- Bomb Pass: pass the lit bomb before the fuse runs out.
- Button Panic: shout out the orders for your crew's buttons.
- Beat Chain: a co-op rhythm game where each player owns some lanes.
- Odd Duck: give clues, then vote for the player who never saw the word.
Big groups and whole departments
When many people play, games that everyone can follow on a shared screen work best. Open the Big screen window from the lobby and share it in your meeting, so everyone sees the live scores.
- Tap Hunt: everyone gets the same crowd, so it is a fair race that is easy to explain.
- Math Rush: quick sums, good for a mixed group.
- Quiz Time: play a ready-made quiz or make your own about your team.
Tips for any size
- Keep it to two or three rounds of a minute or two.
- Ask people to use a first name or a fun nickname.
- Add computer players from the lobby if some people cannot join.
- Change the game each round so different people win.
