Tile matching game tips: how to clear every board without getting stuck
Tile matching games look relaxing, but the tray can fill up fast if you tap without a plan. These tips come from how Tile Match works, and most apply to similar games such as Tile Tower.
1. Look at the whole board first
Before the first tap, check which tiles are free (not covered, with an open side) and which are hidden underneath. Count how many of each picture you can see. A picture with only one or two visible tiles is a signal that its partners are buried.
2. Keep the tray roomy
The tray holds seven tiles. Every tile you place that cannot make a set of three yet takes up a slot. Try to place tiles that match one already in the tray.
3. Free the buried tiles early
Clearing a tile that covers others opens more choices. Prefer taps that uncover new tiles over taps that only add a single to the tray.
4. Chain a family
In Tile Match, tiles belong to families (fruit, critters, garden). Clearing the same family back to back builds a chain with a bigger score multiplier. When two moves are equally safe, pick the one that continues the chain.
5. Handle ice and hidden tiles
Frozen tiles thaw after a few clears, so work on other tiles meanwhile. Tiles with a question mark flip once they are free, so do not count on them until you can see them.
6. Save undo and shuffle for real trouble
Use undo when you tapped by mistake, and shuffle when the tray is nearly full and no safe move is left. Every board can be won, so a stuck feeling usually means a better order exists.
