Online escape room games for teams and quick breaks
A real escape room needs a booking, a long hour and a drive. An online one can fit in a coffee break. Here is how a quick browser escape room works, what makes a good one, and how to use it with a team.
What is a quick online escape room?
You are in a room with a locked door. You search for clues, collect items, use them on locks and crack codes to get out before a timer ends. Our version, Escape Room, has three themed rooms, a Study, a Lab and a Vault, and takes three to five minutes. Every room can be finished using only the clues in it, and the codes and hiding places change every day.
Tips for escaping faster
- Write down every number you see. Codes are usually made from clues like clock hands, paintings and book labels.
- Try each item on each hotspot before you use a hint.
- Look at a clue closely before moving on, the answer is often one tap away.
Use it with a team
Press Host a room and share the code. Everyone gets the same room layout, so the team can race to see who escapes fastest, or talk through the clues together. It works well as a short icebreaker before a meeting. More ideas are on our team games page.
More puzzle games with a codebreaking feel
Code Cracker asks you to crack a hidden code in as few guesses as you can. Mystery Clues gives you five clues to find a mystery answer. Emoji Riddles hides words in emoji. For general knowledge, try Trivia Ladder. More are listed in escape room games online and trivia games online.
