Group event games
When a group is together, the best game is the one nobody has to download. Open a room, show the code, and everyone joins on their own phone.
Where it works
- Meetups and community evenings, between talks.
- Birthday parties and family gatherings.
- Away days and offsites, as a short energiser.
- Club nights, youth groups and classrooms.
How to run it in a room full of people
- One person opens Host a room on a laptop or phone, and picks a game and a length.
- Press Big screen in the lobby and show it on a projector or TV. It shows the code and a QR code, so people can scan to join. Or just read the code out.
- Everyone types the code and a nickname on their own phone.
- Start together. The same board for everyone, so it is fair.
Games that work for a crowd
- Six Hitter: easy to cheer for, short rounds.
- Gravity Flip: one tap, big drama.
- Coin Miner: a tap race that people shout about.
- Flag Quiz Dash and Capital Cities Flight: quiz games that start conversations.
Tips for hosts
- Have the code on screen and keep it there for late arrivals.
- Do a practice round so everyone knows what to do.
- Play two or three short rounds, not one long one.
- Remember that phone data or Wi-Fi decides how smooth it feels.
Questions
Is there a big-screen scoreboard?
Yes. In the room lobby press Big screen. It shows the code, a QR code to join, the live race and a podium, and it is made to be projected.
What if some guests have no phone?
They can play on a shared device, or team up with someone.
Does it need good Wi-Fi?
A normal phone connection is enough. The games are small.
