Gin Rummy

Gin Rummy is the classic two-player card game where you draw and discard to form sets and runs, then knock when your leftover deadwood is 10 or less. Play free Gin Rummy online against the computer at Easy, Medium or Hard. Live meld grouping and deadwood counts show how close you are to knocking, and you can try gin, big gin and undercut bonuses in a daily match.

How to play

1. Each turn draw the top card of the stock or the discard, then discard one card.
2. Group cards into sets (3-4 of a rank) and runs (3+ in a row of one suit, ace low).
3. Knock when your unmatched cards total 10 or less. Lowest deadwood wins the difference, and gin (0 deadwood) earns a 25 bonus.

Tips

• Take a discard only if it makes a meld.
• Dump high cards (10s and face cards) early.
• Watch what your opponent picks up, and avoid discarding cards near them.
