String Tone Luthier

String Tone Luthier is a free 3D instrument repair puzzle. You work on a four-string neck with pegs, saddles and a tuner that shows how sharp or flat each note is in cents. Pitch follows simple rules: more tension raises it, a longer vibrating length lowers it and pressing a fret shortens the string. Use PEG for tension, SADDLE for length and ACTION for string height. Too low buzzes on higher frets, too high stretches the notes. Press TEST and the three job notes, every open string and every octave must be in tune and buzz free. There is no timing window, only the 120 second bell. There are 24 repair jobs with offset saddles, tall frets and stiffer strings.

How to play

  1. Pluck a string at a fret and read the tuner.
  2. Use PEG, SADDLE and ACTION to fix pitch, octave and buzz, and pluck again after each change.
  3. Press TEST when you think it is right.
